The Jonesboro Police Department later released additional details indicating that an officer had briefly attempted to stop the motorcycle for traffic violations shortly before the collision. Police stated the officer discontinued the attempted stop after the motorcycle fled, and moments later emergency dispatchers began receiving calls about the fatal crash.
